Privacy, plainly.
Effective September 15, 2026. This describes how the Spark Cam Chat beta handles information. Your nickname can be pseudonymous; using the service is not a promise of complete anonymity.
Your profile and optional location
We store a generated profile ID, nickname, age-and-terms confirmation timestamp, matching preferences, optional region or state, recent activity time, and any saved Spark Plus interest. We never request a street address or GPS permission. Your selected state is not shown to chat partners, but a match made with narrow filters can suggest your general location. Four regional activity counts use your chosen region or the region associated with your selected state. People who keep their location private are excluded.
Accounts and TikTok
Guest access uses a secure browser session cookie. A Spark Cam account stores your username and salted password hash, a hash of your recovery code, and session records. Your password is not stored in plain text. If TikTok sign-in is enabled and you choose it, TikTok receives your sign-in request and returns an app-specific account identifier. We store that identifier to recognize you. We do not request your videos, follower list, or contacts, and do not post to TikTok. TikTok also handles information under its own privacy policy. We do not retain TikTok access or refresh tokens. TikTok sign-in is currently awaiting setup.
Video and audio
We do not record or store call video or audio. Your browser connects directly to your partner when possible. Connection information may expose a network IP address to the other participant. Where a relay service is configured, it transports encrypted call traffic. The other participant may still record their screen or capture your content with another device. We cannot prevent every capture.
Payments when enabled
Stripe processes payments, including eligible Apple Pay payments, on its hosted checkout. We store Stripe customer, checkout, and subscription identifiers and your membership status, renewal or access-end date, and cancellation setting. We do not receive or store full card numbers or Apple Pay payment credentials. Stripe processes payment, contact, billing, and transaction information under its own privacy policy and may retain financial records after you delete your Spark Cam profile. Billing is currently awaiting activation.
Messages, friends, and reports
We store text messages to deliver them, mutual friend requests, invitation links, call metadata, blocks, and reports. Report details and support requests are accessible to the operator. We do not automatically attach video, audio, or transcripts to a report. Do not include unnecessary sensitive information in reports. A support form requires a reply email.
Retention and deletion
Messages are available for up to 7 days. Call metadata is normally kept for 7 days; temporary connection signals for about 2 minutes. Invitation links expire after 7 days. Account sessions expire after 30 days; a guest session can last up to one year. Expired records are removed during service maintenance as the site is used, so physical deletion can occur later than expiration. Support requests and reviewed reports are removed after 90 days during maintenance; unresolved reports remain until reviewed. Profile and friendship information remains until you delete it. Blocks and reports may retain internal profile IDs for safety after account deletion. Use Your profile to delete, or Contact for a privacy request.
Infrastructure and security
Sites hosting and its infrastructure providers process information needed to serve the website, operate its database, and protect the service, including network and request information. We use essential session cookies, request limits, and access checks. Our application hashes IP addresses for temporary request limits. Infrastructure providers may process raw network addresses in their own operational logs. We do not currently add advertising pixels, third-party analytics, or sell personal information. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You can leave your state undisclosed, use a nickname, decline camera access and use text, end a conversation, remove a friend, or block and report. Clearing a guest cookie can permanently lose access to your guest profile; an account lets you sign in again. To request access, correction, deletion, or other applicable privacy rights, use Contact. We may need enough information to verify the request.
Adults only
The service is intended only for adults 18 and older. Do not use it if you are under 18. If you believe someone under 18 is using the site, end the chat and report “Someone may be under 18.” You can also notify the operator through Contact so the account can be investigated and restricted.
