Looking for a CooMeet alternative? Spark Cam Chat is an independent browser-based service for adults 18 and older in the United States who are open to romance or a relationship. Its focus is free random video or text chat, geographic preferences and keeping a connection when both people choose to.
CooMeet’s official website describes worldwide one-to-one video chat, automatic message translation, private rooms and mobile apps. Spark does not offer automatic translation or a native mobile app. If international discovery or translation is important to you, those differences matter.

Compare free access, subscriptions and minutes
CooMeet advertises restricted free access, Premium plans and purchasable minute packages. Its FAQ also describes automatic subscription renewal. Check the current offer and payment terms directly; a free trial is not the same as every feature remaining free.
Spark’s random video and text chat, U.S.-wide and four regional matching choices, and saving accepted mutual friends are free. No card is needed to start as a guest after confirming adulthood and accepting the rules. Spark does not sell minute packages for random chat.
Spark Plus costs $1.99 per month for state and gender filters, sending private messages and starting friend video calls. Reading received messages and answering friend calls remain free. Plus renews until canceled; cancel before renewal to avoid the next charge. Paid access continues through the paid period, and canceling does not delete saved friends.
Choose a U.S. region, or start without a camera
On Spark, choose the whole U.S. or the Northeast, Midwest, South or West. Sharing your own location is optional. Profile locations are self-reported, not GPS-verified, so a matching filter is not proof of where someone lives.
Choose Text before starting if you do not want to enable a camera or microphone. Video needs working browser permissions and a compatible device and network. Saving Spark to your home screen creates a website shortcut, not an App Store download.
A first conversation does not have to be the last
Either person can send a friend request during a Spark conversation. The connection is saved only when the other person accepts. Create a Spark account to return to those friends from another browser or device; a guest profile depends on its original browser session.
Friend calls require both people to have the site open and be available. This beta has no background incoming-call notifications. Messages are available for up to seven days. Sharing the homepage invites someone to Spark; it does not create a reserved private room.
When Spark may not be the right fit
Spark is a new, early-beta community. Both people must be online with compatible preferences, and a match may not be available. Paying for Plus does not guarantee a match or a reply. If a large established audience or immediate connection is essential, weigh that limitation before joining.
Spark is 18+ and prohibits nudity and sexual content. You can leave, block and report, but reports enter an operator queue: there is no live human monitoring or automatic video screening. Spark does not record calls, but another person may capture their screen. Read the safety guide and avoid sharing personal or financial details.
