Keep a friend after a random chat
Save a mutual connection on Spark Cam, find your friends again, and understand private messages, friend calls, and account access.
Ask before the conversation ends
If you both want to talk again, send a friend request during your conversation. A friendship is saved only after the other person accepts. You can also share a friend invitation link. This gives each person a choice about staying in touch.
A random conversation does not automatically add someone to your contacts. Once a request has been accepted, open Friends to find that connection again. Saving mutual friends remains free.
Private messages and video calls
Open a saved friend to see the message and video-call options. A call is an invitation: the recipient decides whether to answer. Keep Spark Cam open to receive calls; this beta does not provide background incoming-call notifications.
Sending private messages and starting friend calls are part of the proposed $1.99-per-month Spark Plus membership. Reading received messages and answering friend calls remain free. Paid subscriptions are not activated in the current beta, so available features are free to try. Canceling a future subscription will not delete your saved friends.
Messages are available for up to seven days. A saved friendship is a way to reconnect, not a permanent archive of everything you have said.
Keep your friends when you change devices
A guest profile is tied to a secure browser session. Clearing its cookies, using another browser, or switching devices can mean you cannot recover that guest profile. Create a Spark Cam account if you want to sign in and return to your friends from another device.
Store your account recovery code privately. Never send your password or recovery code in a chat. Your public nickname is separate from your sign-in details.
A connection is always your choice
You can decline a request or call, end a conversation, remove a friend, or block and report a profile. Becoming friends does not give someone permission to pressure you or share your conversations. Read the safety guide before meeting someone new.
