Monkey’s official website describes global random video chat, text options and social sign-in. Its FAQ describes signing in before chatting. Spark Cam Chat offers a guest start after an adult confirmation and acceptance of its rules. No card is needed for free random chat. This distinction may matter if you want to try a service before creating an account.

Browser access is not unique to Spark
Both services describe browser access. Monkey also promotes an Android app and browser use on iOS. Spark runs in supported phone and computer browsers and has no native App Store listing. Saving Spark to your home screen creates a website shortcut, not a native app.
On Spark, choose Text if you do not want to enable a camera. Video needs working camera and microphone permissions. Some devices or networks may not connect successfully; browser access alone does not guarantee a working call.
Global discovery or a U.S. focus?
Monkey presents worldwide discovery. Spark is built for adults in the United States who are open to romance or a relationship. Spark’s U.S.-wide and four regional matching choices are free. Your own location can remain private; optional region and state information is self-reported, not GPS-verified.
Spark is an early beta with a small possible pool. Both people must be online and have compatible choices. A narrow search can take longer, and neither a payment nor a broad filter guarantees a match. If a large international pool is essential, weigh that requirement before trying Spark.
Think about the second conversation
Spark lets you send a friend request and save the connection when the other person accepts. Saving mutual friends is free. Create an account to return to friends from another browser or device; a guest profile depends on its original browser session.
Spark Plus is $1.99 per month, renewing until canceled, for state and gender filters, sending private messages and starting friend video calls. Reading received messages and answering calls remain free. Keep the site open for incoming calls; messages last up to seven days. Check Monkey’s current features and prices directly rather than assuming the two services have identical plans.
Set realistic safety expectations
Spark is 18+ and prohibits nudity and sexual content. You can leave, block and report, but reports enter an operator queue: there is no live human monitoring or automatic video screening. Spark does not record calls; another person may capture their screen. We have not independently verified Monkey’s audience or safety claims.
